Nose to the ground,
I peer over the edge into the vastness below,
Where nothing seems
out of place.
It’s where I am now,
that the shaking and quaking take over.
Where so much seems missing or lost,
or never quite near me or far enough away.
Where worries swirl in the gloom.
As I consider whether to let go,
a stillness comes and laughs at my trembling,
my distances kept between,
and reminds me to remember
that nothing can touch me unless I allow it to.
Then I tip myself a little further over the brink
and lean . . .
Plunge into the below
where Hope hops
and begins to skip and laugh out loud.
Where I break up into seed-sized pieces
and slowly begin to dissolve.
