Last night Sara called to invite me to a Soul Collage group that will soon be held in her home. I recently met Sara at a bodywork class called, "Subtle Assessment and Treatment Skills", which involved the use of intuition and deeper wisdom to sense energy in the assessment and treatment of clients. Taught by Carol Gray, a superb teacher and friend of mine, the class of only four quickly involved open-hearted sharing and friendship. Since Sara is a counselor and described a process she often uses with her clients called "Soul Collage", we were interested in learning how. The process includes the creation of our own Tarot/ basic archetype cards and promises to be wonderfully inventive and intense. A self-revelatory process that will only deepen the Retreat/Void I'm presently occupying.
Another friend, whom I met at the Energy Medicine class, inspires me on a regular basis. Although she lives in California, we share similar life paths and frequent conversations over the phone and by email. She sent me the following:
Apprentice Myself to Myself
"Be taught now, among the trees and rocks,
how the discarded is woven into shelter.
Learn the way things hidden and unspoken
slowly proclaim their voice in the world.
Find that far inward symmetry
to all outward appearances.
Apprentice yourself to yourself.
Begin to welcome back all you sent away.
Be a new annunciation.
Make yourself a door through which to be hospitable,
even to the stranger in you. "
